Part 1
The city of Barcelona is by far my favourite place
to visit, whenever I need a break/holiday. It’s great for myself as I still have
family in Barcelona which saves me money from buying a hotel room for a week.
Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain, after
Madrid, and it’s the 11th most populous urban area in the European Union.
Barcelona has over 1.6 million
residents and the city is located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea which is Europe’s largest metropolis on
the Mediterranean coast. In
Barcelona each year 8 million tourists come and visit the city making it Europe’s
third most-visited city after London and Paris.
If ever you decide to visit Barcelona I highly recommend
that you use their public transport to travel around the city, as they
have Metro, trams, buses and taxis in the city. If you take the train in Sants
neighbourhood (like myself) you’ll get to experience how populated this
station can be, as it’s Barcelona’s largest railway station and
the city’s most important transport hub, as it’s the 2nd most populated train
station in Spain. It’s very
common to get confused in which train to get onto in these stations/metro, but
one of the things I love about Barcelona are the people who live in it, they are so
keen to help tourist to get where they need to go.
One of the many great tourist attractions to visit is
Barcelona’s Beaches. This is one
of the biggest tourist attraction sites in Barcelona and the world, as It's
coastline stretches for 4.5km and offers the tourists a wide variety of
excellent beaches. The most popular beaches are La Barceloneta, Mar
Bella, Nova Icaria and Bogatell. One of the
greatest things about this is that it has seven
beaches and around this area,
there are the greatest bars, restaurants to visit. In this city, July and
August are the warmest months with temperatures from 25 to 35°. With its
Mediterranean climate of mild, humid winters and warm, dry summers, Barcelona
is an ideal place for a beach vacation.
